Simply Fleet is giving fleet managers a new way to see what is happening across their operation. Its new AI Insights co-pilot reviews each fleet’s own records on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule, connects changes across maintenance, fuel, inspections, downtime, and compliance, then brings ranked findings to a manager with supporting numbers and links to the related records. It does this without waiting for someone to ask a question or build a report. Paired with a customizable dashboard, it gives teams both the view they want and a heads-up on patterns they may not have spotted.

“Fleet managers don’t have a data problem, they have a time problem. Everything they need is already in the system. The hard part is knowing where to look on a Tuesday morning, and that’s the job we handed to the AI,” said Mrigaen Kapadia, founder of Simply Fleet.

The customizable dashboard tackles the other part of that problem: giving each team a view that fits its operation. Customers can choose up to five KPI cards for the top of the dashboard and up to 12 metrics for the charts and visualizations below. They can add or remove metrics, change their order, and filter the view by group, asset, or time period, including the last 7, 30, or 90 days, year to date, or a custom range.

The available metrics span fuel and consumption, operating costs, inspections and downtime, work orders, vehicle utilization, and total cost of ownership. A small fleet can keep its most important cost and maintenance measures in view without needing a reporting analyst. A growing, mid-size fleet can shape the dashboard around changing priorities. A large operation can use group and asset filters to focus on the vehicles, equipment, or part of the fleet it needs to review.

That flexibility matters across industries. Construction teams can bring fuel, utilization, maintenance costs, and downtime into the same view as they manage vehicles and equipment across jobs. Government and public works fleets can focus on inspections, operating costs, and availability across groups. AI Insights is the standout of this release. Instead of waiting for a manager to ask a question or dig through reports, it reviews that fleet’s own data on a schedule, learns what is normal for that operation, connects signals across modules, and brings a ranked set of findings forward. Each finding comes with an explanation, supporting numbers, and links to related records. That gives fleet teams a distinct advantage: they can spot patterns across maintenance, fuel management, vehicle inspections, work orders, downtime, and compliance reminders without having to know which report to run or which question to ask first.

“Every fleet tool ever built waits for you to ask the right question. We wanted one that tells you what the question should be,” Kapadia said.

The value is in bringing a dashboard the team can shape together with a co-pilot that helps surface what deserves attention. Managers do not need to know the right question in advance. They can review the finding, follow the supporting records, and decide what to do next.

“We deliberately built a co-pilot, not an autopilot. It does the noticing, the fleet manager does the deciding,” Kapadia said.

AI Insights supports daily, weekly, or monthly runs and the feature is available on both Simply Fleet plans.

AI Insights also has a different role from Simply Ask. Simply Ask responds to a question when a manager wants a specific answer. AI Insights brings findings forward on a schedule, without waiting for a question.
